Ode to the Master- Harvey Tolibao

I’ve never seen anyone whose hands are like gods battling over pen and paper. We were buddies in the multimedia department when we were in college. ( i was a freshman and he was a sophomore ( we were both IT - feeling geeks). he’s taught me things that i never learned. ( i was his lazy padawan) obviously, my skills are 1000 ft below his level. He never ceases to amaze me everytime he posts his new masterpiece. he draws real good artwork in a flash, say 5 minutes and your/my jaw will drop on the floor. Just today, he chatted with me and asked about how’s life and all. he kept on pushing me to draw again everyday. i told him drawing is not my passion. it is just a hobby. gawd! he preached to me the gospel of illustrating and drawing and how i should grow roots for my passion. it’ll be a hassle for me to tell everyone about this preaching’s details. one thing for sure,i should always bring a pencil and sketchpad with me and handy kneadable eraser. such a hassle, really. and he asked me how my love life is. i told him it is Beautiful. my rhetoric questioning blow about his love life made him stop typing like… ” uhm……….” for 10 mins ( exaggerates a little) .. ‘’you may laugh at me cos after all these years, i don’t have a girlfriend still.‘’ then he’s talked about this girl who has been his friend for almost two years. he was dying to  tell her how much he likes her until one day he finally had the guts to spill his heart. “So i told her what i felt about her and she just replied the same words you told me 7 years ago. friends lang ta Harv, not more than that“

 and i go like o_0?? … geeez! i forgot he asked me out 7 years ago. what an old fart i am!!! (*GULP*)

 then he changed the topic that he’s doing a starwars project book, fantastic 4, xmen, incredible hulk and some copy for the superman comics. yes those comics most TRACERS collect. gawd! i dunno what to say. He’s my #1 favorite illustrator/artist that is for sure. (even if the ‘ditching’ was part of his bad heart history).
